Adopt, Don't Shop - A New Puppy and Your Dog

Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting time in one’s life. However, if you already have an older dog, they might show signs of aggression and dominance towards the puppy. The owner should have the two dogs meet and see if they get along. This initial meeting should take place in a “neutral zone”, meaning the place is unmarked territory. Then, one should bring the new puppy into the older dog’s territory to see what the response is. A separation gate, if needed, can be found at Remember to not rush into any big decisions involving animals, as they deserve as much love and care as humans.

Remember, adopt, don’t shop!
